Position Summary:
Under direct supervision of the Warehouse & Transportation Manager, the Transportation Supervisor is responsible for the supervision and completion of directives given to transportation function and assurance of assigned tasks in a timely and responsible manner. Acts as liaison between Transportation and other departments.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
*  Ensures compliance with all Tohono O’odham Gaming Enterprise policies and procedures, including Internal Controls (ICs).
*  Ensures shuttles are maintained to reflect a clean, professional appearance to all shuttle riders.
*  Ensures that members of the Transportation department are in compliance with the Tohono O’odham Gaming Enterprise’s policies and procedures.
*  Ensures a complete knowledge by the whole team of Transportation.
*  Supervises all aspects of daily operations of the Transportation.
*  Reviews daily workload and assigns staff to meet the needs of the organization.
*  Creates monthly work schedule for staff.
*  Maintains log of Shuttle Drivers CDL.
*  Maintains proficiencies to operate vehicles and material handling equipment.
*  Maintains general knowledge and provides information to guests of Tohono O’odham Gaming Enterprise’s programs and services
*  Acts as liaison between Transportation and other departments.
*  Provides input or recommendations for improvements and changes in program processes or services
*  Answers phone, makes reservations and maintains reservation calendar.
*  Schedules arrivals and departures according to time and route schedule.
*  Returns calls for group schedules, arranges for arrival and departures.
*  Prepares and maintains shuttle logs and maintains records.
*  Performs all duties in accordance with Tohono O’odham Gaming Enterprise’s guest service standards.
*  Communicates promotional activities at casino and information regarding table games, slots, the restaurant, entertainment.
*  Resolves customer complaints as needed.
*  Provide information regarding the casino Players Club Program.
*  Manages team members and ensures appropriate professional standards of behavior, work standards, productivity, practices and customer care are enforced.
*  Handles all personnel issues in a timely manner according to Tohono O’odham Gaming Enterprise’s policies and procedures.
*  Recommends measures for improving work procedures and worker performance to increase quality and enhance job safety.
*  Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of goals, objectives, programs, promotions, budgets, policies and procedures.
*  Maintains effective communication within the team and attends meetings and training sessions when required.
*  Assigns duties, responsibilities, and work areas to team members in accordance with work requirements.
*  Performs personnel actions such as hiring and firing staff, consulting with department management and Human Resources as necessary.
*  Develops and maintains a teamwork environment.
*  Trains team members in designated areas and monitors progress.
*  Completes, monitors, and develops staff through evaluation and development plans
*  Monitors staff performance by performing periodic "Check Rides" to ensure guest service  standards are achieved and maintained.
*  Provides courteous guest service and deals effectively with guests problems/complaints.
*  Issues complimentary books for shuttle riders.
*  Trains new team members on proper safety techniques and procedures of the transportation department.
*  Observes safety rules, and ensures and maintains a safe and orderly environment.
*  Follows up on safety concerns about Transportation Vehicles.
*  Identifies & reports any irregular, unsafe or hazardous conditions.
*  Keeps all Transportation areas clean, safe, orderly and functioning properly.
*  Conducts daily safety vehicle inspections and reports any unsafe findings to the supervisor.
*  Protect all vehicle safety equipment, and for providing an environment of cleanliness.
*  Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required.
*  All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
 
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED plus 5 years’ experience in transportation operations. 1 of the 5 year of which must been in supervisory role. Must have a valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record and be insurable (for driving). No felony, theft or stealing convictions.  Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen, background investigation, obtain and maintain gaming license and to include the following:

 

Knowledge, Abilities, Skills, and Certifications:
*  Must possess a valid CDL Driver’s License with P Endorsement.
*  Knowledge of the functions, structure, and policies and procedures of Tohono O’odham Gaming Enterprise.
*  Knowledge of principles of vehicle operations and fleet management
*  Knowledge of terminology used regarding supplies, materials, tools, and equipment associated with vehicle operations.
*  Knowledge of principles and practices of pre and post shift travel logs.
*  Knowledge of methods and techniques of transportation control.
*  Knowledge and excellent guest service.
*  Knowledge of shuttle driving.
*  Knowledge of the Phoenix and Tucson metro areas.
*  Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety procedures.
*  Knowledge of transportation methods, agencies, and costs.
*  Ability to drive the shuttle vehicle.
*  Ability to deal with the public effectively. 
*  Ability to communicate Casino information.
*  Ability to write and complete inspection reports. 
*  Ability to communicate, read, and write clearly in basic English.
*  Ability to demonstrate outstanding guest service at all times.
*  Ability to make solid decisions and exercise independent judgment.
*  Ability to complete moderately complex administrative paperwork.
*  Ability to resolve customer complaints and concerns.
*  Skill in guest service techniques.
*  Ability to communicate effectively in the English language, both verbally and in writing.
*  Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and with co-workers at all levels.
*  Ability to understand and follow oral and written instruction.
*  Ability to prepare and maintain written records and reports.

*  Skill in operating business computers and office machines, including in a Windows environment, specifically Word, Excel, Access, and presentation software (such as PowerPoint).
*  Records maintenance skills.

 

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the team member regularly is required to stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The team member occasionally is required to sit; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

 

Work Environment:
Work is performed both indoors and outdoors. Exposure to natural weather conditions and various dusts and mists may occur while performing outdoor duties.  Exposure to chemicals may occur. Standing and walking may be on uneven surfaces or unstable ground.  Situations where safety-toe shoes, safety goggles, gloves, protective face shields, or hardhats are needed may occur. Some work is performed in a casino setting with exposure to second-hand smoke and a high noise level. Evening, graveyard, holiday and/or weekend work may be required. Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required.
