Position Summary:
Under direct supervision of the Director of Government and Public Relations, executes a variety of broad-based public relations and/or communications initiatives designed to enhance the company’s exposure.  Oversees all charitable and tribal donations and sponsorship opportunities for Tohono O’odham Gaming Enterprise.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
*   Attend community events.
*   Advises members of the administration and community regarding public relations issues, donations and sponsorships.
*   Responds to requests for donations from the community and public.  Works with Accounts Payable to ensure checks for donations are sent on a timely basis.
*   Prepares reports on all donations and sponsorships for Board Meetings.
*   Works with Cool Act for sponsorships that require promotional items. 
*   Provides public relations information to the community and its constituencies; plans and directs development and communication of information designed to keep public informed of Tohono O’odham Gaming Enterprise's programs, accomplishments, or points of view. 
*   Provides adequate evaluation of all sponsorship, charitable and tribal donations. 
*   Assists with all Marketing events.
*   Ensures all specific print contacts have approval and understand standards for logo use in print materials.
*   Assists in working with PR Agency to organized press packs, press releases, speeches and/or brochures.
*   Representative of Casino at appropriate events in community.
*   Maximize exposure at all external events/sponsorships.
*   Maintains a good communication with co-workers and maintains a positive and professional work environment.
*   Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required.
*   Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:
    
Education and Experience:
Associate’s Degree plus two (2) years public relations or related experience; or equivalent combination of experience and education. Must be 18 years of age. No felony, theft or stealing convictions. Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen, background investigation, obtain and maintain gaming license and to include the following:

Knowledge, Abilities, Skills, and Certifications:
*   Knowledge of donor and sponsorship practices.
*   Knowledge of the functions, structure, and policies and procedures of Tohono O’odham Gaming Enterprise.
*   Knowledge of principles and practices of public relations, promotions, and marketing in a customer service oriented environment.
*   Knowledge of principles and practices of public relations and customer service.
*   Ability to manage multiple requests.
*   Ability to communicate, read, and write clearly in basic English.
*   Ability to demonstrate outstanding guest service at all times.
*   Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written and oral form.
*   Ability to plan, organize and coordinate media activities and special events.
*   Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
*   Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situation where only limited standardization exists.
*   Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written and oral form.
*   Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
*   Skill in operating business computers and office machines, including word-processing, spreadsheets, database software programs, POS system and e-mail.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is required to sit and stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk, climb and balance. The employee occasionally is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment:
Work is generally performed in an office and Casino setting with exposure to second-hand smoke and a high noise level. Evening, graveyard, holiday and/or weekend work may be required. Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required.
