Position Summary:

Under direct supervision of the Inventory Control Supervisor, responsible for processing all incoming and outgoing mail. Receives, sorts, and delivers all organizational interoffice mail and packages. Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
* Picks up and delivers mail to Post Office.
* Sorts, opens and distributes mail according to destination department.
* Maintains prescribed delivery routes and schedules.
* Delivers and picks-up interoffice and outgoing mail between buildings and locations.
* Runs postage metering system and prepares outgoing mail for pick-up or delivery to Post Office.
* Operates postage metering system and tracks expenses.
* Operates computers and generates electronic receipts for certified mail.
* Processes incoming and outgoing certified mail items with urgency and precision.
* Maintains detailed logs and records to account for incoming and outgoing certified mail.
* Researches undeliverable mail items to determine addressee.
* Ensures Fed-Ex and UPS packages are dropped off before pickup time.
* Monitors work order tracking system for organizational transfers of small packages.
* Performs courier duties to/from local vendors as required.
* Operates and cleans Enterprise mail vehicle.
* Keeps the Enterprise Mail Center organized, clean, safe, orderly and functioning properly.
* Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required.
* Stocks office supplies.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
 
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED plus two (2) years of verifiable experience in mail handling, operating a commercial postage metering system, and processing of certified mail with electronic receipt function using a computer and current mail systems technology. Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and be insurable (for driving).  . Must be 18 years of age or older. No felony, theft or stealing convictions. Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen, background investigation, obtain and maintain a gaming license and to include the following:
 
Knowledge, Abilities, Skills, and Certifications:
* Knowledge of the functions, structure, and policies and procedures of Tohono O’odham Gaming Enterprise.
* Knowledge of postage rates.
* Skill in operating postage machines.
* Skill in operating business computers and office machines in a Windows environment.
* Knowledge of transportation methods, agencies, and costs.
* Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with the public, team members and maintaining a professional appearance.
* Ability to understand and follow oral and written instruction.
* Ability to prepare and maintain written records and reports.
* Ability to make mathematical computations.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality.
* Ability to represent the Facilities department in a professional manner, building respect and confidence in the Enterprise mail service.
* Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
* Ability to carry out instructions furnished in verbal or written format.
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
* Ability to demonstrate excellence in everything, and continually seek improvement in results.
* Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety procedures.
* Ability to handle bulky and heavy items.
* Ability to communicate effectively in the English language, both verbally and in writing.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel crouch, or crawl and be able to reach out and pick-up and hold small objects. The team member frequently is required to stand; walk; and talk or hear. The team member occasionally is required to sit. The team member must frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. 

Work Environment:
Work is generally performed both indoors and outdoors in extreme heat and cold.  Some work is performed in a casino setting with exposure to second-hand smoke and a high noise level.  Evenings, graveyards, holidays and/or weekend work may be required.  . Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required.
