Position Summary:
Under direct supervision of the Desert Diamond Casino - Phoenix Director of Casino Marketing, negotiates and executes all media and advertising contracts including print, radio, and television. Closely coordinates charitable activities with other media exposure vehicles. Develops and builds relationships with media/advertising contacts.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
*  Negotiates and contracts for media buys for Tohono O’odham Gaming Enterprise.
*  Tracks and processes all invoices, coordinates with the Accounting department for requisitions, invoicing and billing issues and maintains appropriate tracking system.
*  Ensures all components of advertising including copy prints, sponsors, website, and photography meet company standards.
*  Advertises all marketing activities and events in appropriate media to ensure greatest exposure with the public to generate interest and revenue.
*  Develops internal and external communication channels and systems.
*  Provides analytical expertise to evaluate media campaigns for success and make any modifications necessary.
*  Prepares annual budget and ensure compliance within budget for all advertising/media activity.
*  Establishes and maintains Content Management System and launching new and/or updated content to the website.
*  Periodically reviews website and recommends updates of content and design.
*  Develops and builds relationships with outside vendors, suppliers, and support staff.
*  Coordinates all advertising activities with co-coordinators, in a timely manner.
*  Attends community activities and events as company representative
*  Maintains good communication with team members and maintains a positive and professional work environment.
*  Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required.
*  Perform other duties as required.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree plus 2 years advertising experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Relevant and direct experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirement. Must be 18 years of age or older. Gaming experience preferred; No felony, theft or stealing convictions.  Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen, background investigation, obtain and maintain a gaming license and to include the following:
 
 Knowledge, Abilities, Skills, and Certifications:
*  Knowledge of the functions, structure, and policies and procedures of Tohono O’odham Gaming Enterprise.
*  Knowledge of principles and practices of advertising, public relations, promotions, and marketing in a guest service oriented environment.
*  Knowledge of marketing strategies, processes, and available resources.
*  Knowledge of advertising and media production principles, methods, techniques, procedures, facilities, and equipment.
*  Knowledge of guest service standards and procedures.
*  Knowledge of the market and demographic data.
*  Ability to supervise and train team members, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
*  Ability to investigate and analyze information and draw conclusions.
*  Ability to develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures.
*  Ability to communicate effectively in the English language both verbally and in writing.
*  Ability to demonstrate outstanding guest service at all times.
*  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written and oral form.
*  Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
*  Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situation where only limited standardization exists.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the team member regularly is required to sit and stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The team member frequently is required to walk, climb and balance.  The team member occasionally is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment:
Work is generally performed in an office and casino setting with exposure to second-hand smoke and a high noise level. Evenings, graveyards, holidays and/or weekend work may be required. Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required.
