Position Summary:
Under general supervision of the Chief Executive Officer, responsible for the operations and administration of all marketing and promotional aspects of the casino and supervision of the Marketing Department and Players Club staff.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overall operations and administration of the casino marketing and promotion advertising policies including Players Club, promotions, advertising, and all special events and entertainment for a customer service oriented environment.
  • Plans, organizes, develops and coordinates all marketing policies, procedures, and organizational structure.
  • Works closely with Finance department to measure effectiveness of marketing activity.
  • Safeguards the best interests of the casino by ensuring the most efficient, cost effective marketing and promotions systems.
  • Provides direction and support to the Marketing staff.
  • Establishes marketing fiscal budgets in conjunction with the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer.
  • Approves promotion proposals and budgets.
  • Oversees scheduling, preparations, and procedures with department and casino staff as related to any special events or promotions at the casino.
  • Creates the sales strategy, action plans and goals of the department. 
  • Must work closely with casino Directors to attain common goals to increase volume, promote and market slot product.
  • Communicates marketing information effectively with all departments.
  • Ensures integrity of logo.
  • Plans and oversees the advertising and promotion activities including online electronic media and direct mail. 
  • Ensures effective control of marketing results, and takes corrective action to guarantee that achievement of marketing objectives fall within the designated budgets.
  • Maintains a good communication with co-workers and maintains a positive and professional work environment. 
  • Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:


Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field plus 10 years of marketing experience, to include casino marketing, advertising, and entertainment with a minimum of 5 years in an executive position in a large scale market with multiple like-sized competitors; Demonstrated experience must include marketing leadership in large organization with 1500+ slot machines, brand development, strategic planning, and development and implementation of long range marketing plan. Equivalent combination of education and progressive, relevant and direct experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirement. No felony, theft or stealing convictions. Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen, background investigation, obtain and maintain a gaming license and to include the following: 


Knowledge, Abilities, Skills, and Certifications:

  • Knowledge of the functions, structure, and policies and procedures of Tohono O’odham Gaming Enterprise.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of public relations, promotions, entertainment and marketing.
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of casino marketing, advertising and entertainment. 
  • Experience in strategic planning to include developing long range marketing plans. 
  • Ability to move from strategic concept to project completion with a hands on management style. 
  • Experience in Brand development.
  • Knowledge of computer utilization in marketing/business operations.
  • Knowledge of surrounding gaming industries.
  • Knowledge of marketing media and funding sources.
  • Knowledge of communication principles, media and marketing techniques.
  • Knowledge of advertising principles, strategies and techniques.
  • Knowledge of printing procedures and requirements.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, cost estimating and fiscal management principles and procedures.
  • Knowledge of supervisory techniques.
  • Ability to read and analyze general business periodicals and professional journals.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language, both verbally and in writing with staff and the general public.
  • Ability to apply decision making and problem solving skills to all situations.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate media activities and special events.
  • Ability to supervise and train team members, to include organizing, prioritizing and scheduling work assignments.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the team member regularly is required to sit and stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The team member frequently is required to walk. The team member occasionally is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.


Work Environment:

Work is generally performed in an office and casino setting with exposure to second-hand smoke and a high noise level. Evening, graveyard, holiday and/or weekend work may be required. Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required.
